Lindy Hop

Lindy 1/Beginners

New to Lindy Hop dancing? This is where you start!

What we will work on:

  • Basic connection
  • Footwork
  • Leading/following your first moves
  • Improvisation
  • We will bring you to a social dance!

Lindy 2

You’ve just followed a Beginners course Lindy Hop. You know the basics, slows and triple steps and learned a couple of basic moves.

What we will work on:

  • Footwork (for ex. the Charleston will be introduced)
  • Digging deeper into leading/following
  • Improvisation
  • Faster tempo’s

Lindy 3

You’ve completed our Lindy 2 course or have been dancing for about 5 months.

You know the swing-out and the Charleston basics along with a variety of 6 and 8 count moves.

What we will work on:

  • Mixing 6 and 8 counts
  • Musicality
  • Spins and turns

Lindy 4

* This level is meant to be repeated 2-3 times before moving on to the next level. *

You’ve completed our Lindy 3 course or have been dancing for about 8 months.

You can social dance with relative ease to medium tempo songs and you are ready to dig deeper into the technical aspects of Lindy Hop.

What we will work on:

  • Improving the basics
  • Keeping the flow
  • Personal variations and styling

Lindy 5

You’ve followed our Lindy 4 course couple of times or have been dancing for at least one year

Your dancing is starting to flow more and you’re not scared of dancing to slow or fast tempos.

What we will do:

  • Introduce advanced techniques and moves
  • Experiment dancing with different flavours
  • Fine-tune the basics

You are an experienced dancer and you don’t shy away from extreme tempos.

You social dance regularly and attend international festivals whenever you can.

What we will work on:

  • Strengthening the fundamentals
  • Keeping control in challenging tempos
  • Improving your ability to assess your own dancing

Lindy 8

Based on the amount of applications we might have an audition for this level.

If you don’t know where to take classes anymore or are looking to add another high intensity class to your week then this might be something for you!

Solo Jazz & Charleston

Heads up, your level as a solo dancer might differ from your level as a partner dancer. Please read the level description carefully and make an educated choice.

Solo Beginner

You are new to taking weekly solo jazz/charleston classes or have followed some workshops.

What we will work on:

  • Increasing body awareness
  • Gaining control in movement
  • Getting familiar with jazz/charleston steps and their styling
  • Understanding the basics of jazz music

Solo Advanced

You are an experienced solo dancer

What we will do:

  • Challenge the control that you have over your movement
  • Dance to a wide range of tempo’s
  • Find your limits and create personal goals based on that
  • Work theme based (open for requests/ideas)
  • The teacher will customize the material for you

Solo Intermediate

You have been regularly dancing solo (can be different styles), are familiar with basic solo charleston/jazz steps and are looking for more complexity.

What we will work on:

  • Expanding your repertoire with new moves and variations
  • The ability to use your entire body when dancing solo instead of mainly focussing on separate body parts
  • Creating smoother transitions
  • Adding stops/syncopations/rhythm changes without losing the flow of your dancing
  • The skills to choreograph and improvise
